Staying Positive In the Midst of Chaos
A Mission Viejo Chiropractor offers a very helpful, healing message apropos to the tough times everyone must face.
It is so important that we learn to positively manage our reactions and attitudes to the difficult situations life throws our way. Reaching for the bottle of tranquilizers or booze is not the answer. These things harm the body and the spirit.

Finding Raw Milk in Orange County

Our favorite place to buy OP milk is at Mother's Market because their prices are the lowest around and their selection is the best. Whole Foods also carries their products but the prices there are too high for our budget. We like Whole Foods for many other reasons and we shop there frequently but not for Organic Pastures products. Still, having said that, we buy raw milk there in a pinch. Other places to find raw milk include Henry's and Sprouts; the prices in these stores are mid-range.
Mother's Market is found in Santa Ana (largest store, best selection and a GREAT staff!) Costa Mesa, Irvine, Laguna Woods and Huntington Beach. Whole Foods is in Tustin (and if you have not been there you must see it! It is huge and has everything you could want including grass fed beef - but that is a subject for a future post...) Sprouts is in Tustin ( in the old Whole Foods location) and Seal Beach and Henry's is in Costa Mesa, Fullerton and Henry's. Wild Oats in Laguna Beach also carries Organic Pastures products. One other way to get your raw dairy fix is through a number of co-ops here in Orange County. Contact Organic Pastures directly for more information.

Goodbye Farmers' Markets?

Will they be put out of business in the name of "food safety"?
Self-serving, corporate-backed legislation currently in Congress threatens to do just that.
From Opednews.com comes the following:
"The "food safety" bills in Congress were written by Monsanto, Cargill, Tysons, ADM, etc. All are associated with the opposite of food safety. What is this all about then?
In the simplest terms, organic food and a rebirth of farming were winning. Not in absolute numbers but in a deep and growing shift by the public toward understanding the connection between their food and their health, between good food and true social pleasures, between their own involvement in food and the improvement in their lives in general, between local food and a burgeoning local economy.

Slow Food was right - limit your food to what comes from your region and from real farmers, and slow down to cook it and linger over it with friends and family, and the world begins to change for the better."
There is much more of this article at Opednews.com. Read the rest of it here. The end of the article contains a wonderful list of positive things we can all do to be doing to support "slow food." We are blessed to have an active farmers' market community here in Orange County. Let your voice -- and your actions -- be heard now!
